Preston Grisham is a seasoned technology, public affairs, and public policy professional with deep expertise in government relations, strategic communications, and software development. Currently serving as the head of federal public policy communications at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Preston leads initiatives to advance AWS’s policy priorities, shape public discourse, and foster collaboration with key stakeholders in Washington, D.C., and beyond.
Before joining AWS, Preston played a pivotal role in shaping the technology landscape in South Carolina by founding and leading TechSC, the state’s foremost technology association. Through TechSC, he brought together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to drive innovation, workforce development, and pro-technology policies. He previously held leadership roles at the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), where he spearheaded policy advocacy campaigns, and on Capitol Hill, serving as Communications Director for Congressman Mike Turner and longtime advisor to Congressman Joe Wilson. Additionally, he founded Stonewall Strategies, a government affairs firm representing corporate and association clients across South Carolina.
Beyond policy and communications, Preston is a hands-on technologist with a passion for software development and cybersecurity. Currently pursuing a master’s degree in Computer & Information Science, he has built and published several iOS applications, working with languages like Swift, Python, JavaScript, and C++. This unique combination of technical and policy expertise allows him to navigate the intersection of technology, innovation, and regulation with a practical and forward-thinking approach.
A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Preston holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from the University of South Carolina.
